Jacquard shrug

The other small project I finished this weekend was a little shrug made from black Jacquard. The fabric was in my stash for several years, but now I finally started using it!

The pattern was a blazer pattern from Burda Easy fashion that I modified. I added puff to the sleeves, reduced the collar and fused pattern pieces. Maybe one could say that I only used the pattern as a guideline for the back and arm scythe...

It's beautiful fabric! I have a hard time cutting into my favourite fabrics, because I know I'll never be able to find any more. So it sits in the stash - patiently waiting ... You chose a nice first project for yours! ;o)

Super cute! I'm so jealous of the fabric!

@ Nini: DAnke für das Kompliment! Ich würde auch gerne deinen Kleiderschrank plündern... ^^

@ Insomniac's Attic: Thanks! Actually, the fabric can still be ordered, ut the size of the pattern somehow limits my ideas to use it. I actually want to make a corset from it, but small pieces would just destroy the overall effect...

@ MmePolaire: Thank you for the compliment! The fabric is from an american ebay seller:

It's beautiful! The fabric and the pattern are beautiful, and I *love* what you did with the sleeves. It looks very princessy :D!

Ohh it's amazing!! Love how you fitted the fabric to get the crosses on the middle of the puff sleeve! Love it

MindLess said...

@ Shannon: Yes, indeed! I'm looking forward to wearing it so much!

@ Linnea: That was partly by accident. They just happened to be very close to the crosses, so I moved them by 3cm for a nice detail. But here you can see how large the pattern is. I would have to cut it all up for a corset...
