Did I talk about relaxed sewing for now? Did I mention that I want to get back into sewing more slowly? Screw that, let's make big plans again!
In less than 2 weeks, a historical picnic will take place in cologne; it's called "Jardin de belle epoque". Guess who is participating? That's right, me! And I will do so in a new fancy outfit which is regency inspired! This is my general idea:
Yesterday, on the way home from sports, it struck me: I still have some unused cotton window drapes in the cellar. I found them when I was looking for the ugly fabric that I needed for the ugly fabric swap on Sunday... All in all I have 3m each of two cream coloured fabrics with slightly different weaves. The colour matches exactly, so I will just use one fabric for the dress and the second one for bonnet, stays and a possible underdress.
I also have enough steel bones for the stays (btw, I decided to do the long form since I have a bit of a belly and would like to not be seen as pregnant, thankyouverymuch), so the only thing I need to buy is foamrubber to substitute the buckram in the bonnet! If I find some exiting fabric (in my stash), I will make a new scarf, but I could also use the stole I got from Niniel Chan and her husband when I visited them.
Anyone else who is participating?
