I'm not much of an art person. I like pretty thing to look at, but I don't have to go into too much depth. I like museums, but more the interactive ones. I like paintings to be realistic, figurative and clear. That is why I prefer older paitings to newer ones, usually. In Monet's work, you can clearly see him loosing focus and eyesight. Van Gogh's paintings are nice, but I prefer brushstrokes to pointilism. When I first saw this picture in my german textbook (odd source, hu?), I instantly fell in love with Orphelia from John Everett Millais. I could have put anything from Dali here or Louis Rojo or Giger, but still to this day the art noveau flair of orphelia leaves me breathless...
